The construction industry in the UK is one of the largest in the country’s economy, employing 3.1 million people, or more than 9 percent of the population. That’s why Cheshire College offers a diverse, broad range of different courses, so you will be able to build your future in the best way that suits you.
Throughout your studies, you’ll have access to our state-of-the-art construction facilities consisting of industry standard equipment and bespoke workshops for training in areas such as plumbing, boiler installations, electrical installations, carpentry and joinery.
Cheshire College is proud to have strong links with regional and national employers within the industry including Kier, Balfour Beatty, Graham, Redrow and Sanctuary Maintenance. These relationships benefit our students immensely as they explore work placements, advice and apprenticeship or employment opportunities.
Our students have progressed onto employment within the industry in roles such as a bricklayer, carpenter, electrical installer, joiner and plumber. Others have advanced onto study higher-level courses in areas such as architecture, surveying and engineering.
“I chose this course as bricklaying runs in our family, so I am following in their footsteps. I will be able to use their contacts and help in the future. The people on my course are welcoming and supportive. To anyone thinking of coming here, I’d say just try your hardest. I’d like to be a construction worker in the future.”
When exploring the courses we have available, you may see a fee attached but you’re more than likely to be eligible for a fully-funded enrolment!
