How to apply

The Course

This qualification will provide you with the underpinning knowledge required by employees to work in a range of different environments in a business administration role. You will develop essential knowledge of how to carry out administrative tasks such as how to manage information and supporting events, as well as how to apply this knowledge in a variety of industries and job roles. It is suitable for those working, or seeking to work, across a wide variety of sectors including NHS trusts, educational institutions, government departments, charities and the private sector.

This course should take approximately four to five months to complete. There are seven units in total:

  • Principles of Providing Administrative Services
  • Principles of Business Document Production and Information Management
  • Understand Communication in a Business Environment
  • Understand Employer Organisations
  • Understand How to Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues
  • Understand How to Carry Out Business Administration Tasks
  • Understand How to Prepare Text

This is a remote learning course which will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

This qualification is designed for students aged 19+ who want to progress into employment in the first instance, or further learning, depending on their own needs and interests. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification; however,  you may find it helpful if you’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification. There will be an initial assessment as part of the application process.

This is a knowledge only qualification, so industry employment is not required.

Achievement of this qualification could lead on to courses such as:

  • Level 2 or 3 Appprenticeship in Business Administration
  • Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
