This course will allow you to develop a range of specialist technical skills, enabling you to meet the demands of employers in the computing sector and to adapt to a constantly changing world. The programme will cover a broad range of computing topics that may be encountered in modern business. You will benefit from our excellent cutting-edge computing facilities, small tuition groups and extremely supportive, industry experienced teaching staff. By completing this course you will achieve an industry recognised HNC, which will enhance your career prospects and your employability. During the course you may also have the opportunity to gain additional professional IT qualifications with further study.
The course will cover a broad-based overview of computing, which will allow you to develop wide-ranging skills and knowledge. You will gain academic, technical and professional training, leading to the skills necessary to design, implement, support, evaluate or manage IT systems in a vast range of industries, with the aim of gaining interesting and well-paid employment, or continuing your education to BSc (Hons) level.
You will complete the HNC with one year of full-time study, and could then choose to continue to a HND with a further year of study. You will be expected to attend College for a minimum of 16 hours per week: two full days, or a combination of days and evening sessions. Our computing courses are delivered in small groups, by lecturers with a wide range of industry backgrounds. The teaching team have adopted a hands on approach to best familiarise you with industry practice.

You will complete a Computing project as part of your programme of study. This project will be set by the awarding body.
Assessment is 100% assignment based. There will be no formal examinations on this programme. Teaching methods will include lectures, practical sessions, group work, tutorials and workshops. In addition, substantial learning resources and support materials are available online, facilitating home study.
