How to apply

The Course

This qualification is ideal for those who wish to gain a better insight into stress and the effects it can have. As well as improving your understanding of stress, you will also study its causes and the effects stress can have on health. You will learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and look at ways of preventing or reducing stress.

This course should take approximately one to three months to complete. This is a single unit qualification named ‘Introduction to stress and stress management’, which will cover:

  • types of stress
  • knowing the effects of stress: short term and long term
  • understanding the  possible causes of stress; and
  • knowing ways to prevent and reduce the effects of stress.

This is a remote learning course which will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

There are no entry requirements for this course; however, a good level of English and a reasonable level of IT skills are required. There will be an initial assessment as part of the application process.

This is a knowledge-only qualification; therefore, a work/industry placement experience is not required.

Achievement of this qualification could lead to further study on courses such as:

  • The Level 2 Award in Mentoring
  • The Level 2 Award in Nutrition and Health; or

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
