How to apply

The Course

This qualification has been designed to provide you with the basic skills required to support teaching and learning of English as a second language in a wide range of contexts.

The Level 2 Award in Volunteering to Support English Language Teaching and Learning is suitable for volunteers who would like to understand how to support others to learn English as a second language. You may have learned English as a second language yourself and now wish to support others.

The course will help you:

  • support English language teaching and learning in a variety of settings
  • understand how to support students who are learning to be confident users of the English language; and,
  • be able to recognise and address some of the challenges and issues that English language students encounter.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but ideally you will have completed the Level 1 Award in Volunteering to Support English Language Teaching and Learning.
You could progress to higher-level study at the College or expand your knowledge with one of our other Level 2 courses.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
