How to apply

The Course

This fascinating course will introduce you to a branch of science that will provide you with the foundation for a career as a Forensic Scientist, Biomedical Scientist or Medical Science Technician, Environmental Analyst, or in the fields of criminology and forensic psychology at a junior level. You will put theory in to practice utilising laboratory techniques and developing your skills as a Forensic Analyst or Chemical Researcher and you will be introduced to the fundamentals of human anatomy and biotechnology. Common procedures such as fingerprinting DNA analysis, spectroscopic analysis, psychology and preserving a crime scene will be covered in this vocationally focused course.

Four GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or above including a combination of Grade 2/3 or higher in Maths and English. Level 2 learners who do not achieve a Grade 4 in English and/or Maths will study a GCSE in the subject(s) as part of their Study Programme.
You will be able to progress on to the Level 3 course, or gain employment as an entry level Technician in a laboratory setting.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
