How to apply

The Course

This course is for anyone who has completed Level 2 Hairdressing or has the relevant industry experience in a salon. This study programme will enable you to further develop your skills to an advanced level whilst evolving your creativity through cutting, colouring and styling. You will work on creating avant-garde styles incorporating long hair techniques and styling for catwalk and competitions. You will have the opportunity to attend external events and workshops such as Wella Studios/Schwarzkopf training and employer-led workshops. Students are actively encouraged to enter competitions both locally and nationally, including Worldskills, which enhances future career prospects and is a valuable addition to any CV. This study programme is suitable for all ages. Ideally you will have GCSE Maths and/or English at grade 4/C (adult learners will need to have a good basic level of education and the motivation to learn).

Typically you will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C, including a 4/3 (C/D) combination for maths and English.
From this course you can progress to employment as a hairdresser, or continue on further part-time courses such as barbering. You could also progress onto a degree course in hairdressing or salon management.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
