How to apply

The Course

This course is ideal if you are serious about pursuing a career in hospitality. You will build on your skills from Level 1 to enable you to gain the skills and knowledge to work in the industry. Our experienced chefs will help you to expand your skills to the level that the industry demands. As part of your vocational training you’ll work in the College’s kitchens and AA Rosette standard Academy restaurants. You’ll also gain experience by providing the catering at high-profile corporate events, such as Chester Racecourse, private parties and banqueting, and Gourmet evenings.

You will have the opportunity to attend workshops and training with local celebrity chefs and industry specialists. Additionally, you will also gain a Level 2 Certificate in Food and Beverage Service.

This course is suitable for all ages. You will have completed Level 1 Professional Cookery or have relevant industry experience and have the desire to work in different kitchen environments developing your culinary expertise in a wide range of techniques and dishes. In addition, you will be supported to increase your GCSE Maths and English to a grade 4 or above.

Typically you will need 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including a 3/2 (D/E) combination for maths and English.

On completion of this qualification, students may progress into employment or to the following options:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery
  • Level 3 Diploma in Patisserie and Confectionery
  • An apprenticeship

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
