How to apply

The Course

If you’re interested in a career in the sports industry or coaching, this course is for you. You’ll study subjects from health and fitness to sports coaching which will enable you to make informed choices regarding your future employment opportunities.

Units of study include:

  • Sport and Society
  • Sports Nutrition
  • Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise
  • Sports Development and Sports Coaching

The course also involves a proportion of practical work and there are a number of trips organised and visits to national centres.

Upon successful completion of the first year of the course, you will be awarded a BTEC 90 Credit Diploma in the subject.

Typically you will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including a 4/3 (C/D) combination for maths and English.
Students who are successful have the option of progressing to study at university. Career paths can include employment in fitness centres, local authority leisure centres or any branch of the forces or emergency services.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
