How to apply

The Course
This fascinating course covers all aspects of technical theatre and backstage work including lighting, moving lighting, sound, stage management, live events planning, electrics, crewing and maintenance. You’ll be working with some of the latest industry equipment and practitioners whilst gaining knowledge and practical experience. In order to develop your skills you’ll work as technical crew on a variety of productions and events, supporting theatre productions, music gigs, conferences, awards ceremonies, photo shoots and fashion shows. As well as working on in-house shows you’ll also be given opportunities to work with industry specialists on work experience projects. Previous learners have worked with The Floral Pavilion Theatre, Pacific Road Theatre, ABER Lighting, MJD Productions and The Chameleon Theatre.
Upon successful completion of the first year of the course, you will be awarded a BTEC National Diploma in the subject.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
Funding for Adult Courses
You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you are 19+ there may be funding options available to cover the cost of your course.
