How to apply

The Course

Careers in the public services can be incredibly rewarding. This course will give you the skills and level of physical fitness you need to enter most public service organisations. You’ll gain valuable teamworking, problem-solving and communication skills by taking part in orienteering, rock climbing and navigation activities in the Welsh mountains and Cheshire.

Importantly, you’ll visit public service organisations to gain knowledge from key personnel and find out about career opportunities, and you’ll even have the chance to take part in their on-site training activities.

Many of our students progress to the Level 3 course or directly to employment in their chosen field. You will benefit from external trips and visits to fire stations, the Cheshire Constabulary Headquarters in Winsford, Cheshire Fire Service, Chill Factore in Manchester and Awesome Walls in Liverpool.

You could progress to the Level 3 Uniformed Public Services course at the College or to employment in your chosen public service.
