How to apply

The Course

If you want a career working in the exciting world of games development, then this course will help you on your way. Combining key knowledge modules with a range of practical projects, you will gain extensive hands-on experience and create an impressive portfolio to help secure your dream job or university top-up place.

You will gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to achieve high performance in the international games environment. This course will aslo provide you with the core skills required for a range of careers in games, specifically those related to management and operations, developing your understanding of the major impact that new digital technologies have on the games environment and providing an insight into international business operations and the opportunities and challenges presented by a global marketplace.

You will gain a wide range of games development knowledge linked to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. you will aso gain valuable transferable skills, such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which are highly valued in higher education and in the workplace.

After successful completion of the course, you could progress to the Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Games Development at the College.

We welcome an application profile that meets one of the following:

  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in games development or a related course
  • A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject
  • Other related Level 3 qualifications
  • An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
  • Related work experience as determined at interview with the Course Team Leader
  • An international equivalent of the above

and:

  • GCSE grades A* to C and/or 9 to 4 in maths and English
Successful candidates may be able to move on to the HND in Games Development (also delivered at the College) then progress to a top up degree. They also can gain employment in a wide range of creative media sectors.

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
