How to apply

The Course

Microsoft Word is the word processing component of the Microsoft Office Suite. It is used primarily to enter, edit, format, save, retrieve and print documents. This course designed to familiarise you with the terminology, screen components and the most commonly used functions offered by Microsoft Word.
 
Emphasis will be placed on proper document formatting techniques including file naming and file management conventions. Topics covered include: 
 
Identify the various benefits of using word processing software. 
Identify the main parts of the Microsoft Word window.
Identify the purpose of the commands on the menu bar.
Copy, cut and paste text.
Work with the buttons on the toolbar.
Type, edit and format text. • Work with pictures.
Work with language tools (spell check).
Open, save, save as, and print Microsoft Word files

There is no specific entry requirements for this course. This course is suitable for students aged 19+ with an interest in computers.

You could progress to further study with one of our Cyber Security courses.

Adults can enrol for FREE

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you’re aged 19+ you’ll more than likely be eligible to enrol onto an adult course for FREE.
