How to apply

The Course

This programme has been developed to focus on the development of technical and soft skills to allow for progression to study at Level 3, either through a T Level or an apprenticeship. You will complete technical modules, personal and social development and a work placement. The programme is made up of the following elements: 

Diagnostic Period


Level 2 Certificate in Information and Creative Technology 

  • The Online World 
  • Technology Systems 
  • A Digital Portfolio 
  • Website Development 
  • Software Development
  • Mobile App Development

In addition to the digital programme outlined above, you will also complete the following components on your study programme to ensure that you have the necessary skills and experience to successfully transfer onto a Level 3 course.

  • Level 2 Higher Project Qualification
  • Work Placement 
  • Individual Development Skills
  • Discrete maths and English classes

Typically you will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3/D (or above), including a grade 3/2 (D/E) combination for maths and English.

Upon satisfactory completion of the course, you will be able to progress to the T Level in Digital Production and Design. Over the three years of your T Level journey you will gain a range of skills and experience and substantial experience of working for employers which will give you a number of progression options including:

  • Degree programmes at university
  • Skilled employment in more senior roles
  • Higher-level apprenticeships that offer an honours degrees as part of the programme

You could also progress directly onto other Level 3 courses such as:

  • National Extended Diploma in Computing
  • Level 3 apprenticeship

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.

Funding for Adult Courses

You may see a fee attached to the course you’re interested in, but if you are 19+ there may be funding options available to cover the cost of your course.
