Self-harm, self-injury, NSSI, Self-Mutilation – what do they all mean and are they any different? Why do some people hurt themselves and what is the best way to support someone who does? In this introductory course, you will be introduced to Non Suicidal Self Injury, the current research behind why some people hurt themselves deliberately, and the evidence based practice of how to support someone who does. This course will help you to challenge your own perspectives of self harm and increase your skills base for supporting people who do hurt themselves. A certificate of attendance is awarded at the end of this course. This course does not make you a qualified mental health first aider or registered clinician, it is an introductory course only.
The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
