How to apply

The Course

This qualification will develop students’ knowledge and awareness of the different types of provision within the health, social care, and children’s and young people’s sectors. It covers a range of topics including the roles played by professionals, core principles and values, health and safety, and effective collaboration with others.

The course is aimed at individuals who wish to develop an understanding of these settings before deciding whether a career in the sector is right for them.

This qualification:

  • Allows students to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment and/or career progression in the sectors
  • Offers flexibility to tailor learning to individual interests through a broad range of optional units
  • Provides opportunities for the development of transferable skills
  • Supports progression to Level 2 qualifications in health, social care or children’s settings
  • Equips students with the foundation to progress into employment in a variety of job roles

This course is ideal for anyone considering a career in health and/or social care, whether working with adults, children, or young people.

You can progress to studying a Level 2 qualification in health and social care or childcare.

The course fee shown is the co-funded rate which is only available for people living in the local authority areas of Cheshire West and Chester or Cheshire East. If you live outside of these local authorities please contact the College for fee information.
