How to apply

The Course

This course offers a deeper exploration of Fine Art for students ready to advance their skills and knowledge. It builds on core artistic principles and introduces specialist areas of study to help you refine your practice and prepare for employment or further academic progression.

You will develop practical and conceptual skills through research, independent and guided study and real-world creative projects. The course encourages critical thinking and personal expression while engaging with industry-focused approaches. You will also take part in vocational activities that build transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, research and professional presentation.

By the end of the course, you will have a strong understanding of Fine Art as both a subject and a professional field. You will be confident in using advanced techniques and creative processes and well prepared to move into a career in the arts or progress onto the final year of a related degree.

The HND is available for students who wish to progress from a HNC at Cheshire College. If you have obtained your HNC from another institution or have had a gap in your studies your application will be reviewed to ensure you have previously undertaken a combination of units that is complimentary to our HND programme.
You could progress into employment within the creative industries or continue with further study. The Fine Art HND is recognised by higher education providers as meeting admission requirements for a range of relevant art and design-related degree programmes.
