The Course

This course is designed for students who are interested in beginning a career in community sports coaching. It offers a practical introduction to the key principles and responsibilities involved in coaching at grassroots level, with a focus on supporting participation, development and engagement across a range of sports.

Students will explore the fundamentals of coaching practice, including planning and delivering inclusive sessions, understanding basic health and safety, and developing communication skills. The course places emphasis on working effectively with groups in community settings and encourages students to build confidence in leading others, regardless of the sport.
