From FREE transport available to all 16-18 year old students to the opportunity to loan a laptop during your studies, we’re always identifying ways we can support our students so that they can focus on their goals without any additional financial stress.
Take a look at the types of financial support we can offer at Cheshire College.
The College uses an online system called PayMyStudent for applying for financial support. You can use PayMyStudent on a mobile phone, PC, tablet and laptop. You can upload evidence online, which makes it quicker and easier to apply. You can also view and check your payments online too.
We’ve outlined some of the different types of financial support available that you may be eligible for as a 16-18 year old student. We have a dedicated team focused on making this process as simple and smooth for you as possible. You can always message the team at bursary@ccsw.ac.uk, and you can take a look at some of the support available below.
The 16-19 Bursary Fund
This fund provides financial support to help 16-18 year old students remain in education.
Further information about this can be found at www.gov.uk/1619-bursary-fund/eligibility.
Students aged between 16-18 years old may be eligible for a free meal every day that they’re on Campus throughout their studies.
If you are a parent under 20 years old, you are eligible for childcare support of up to £180 per child, per week, under the Care to Learn scheme. More details about this are available at www.gov.uk/care-to-learn.
If you are a student under the age of 19 who lives in Wales and travels to study at Cheshire College, you may be able to receive an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). You can find out more about this at www.studentfinancewales.co.uk/fe/ema.
If you have previously been approved for bursary funding and your household income has not notably changed from last academic year, you can use the Bursary Self Declaration form as evidence of your eligibility, as we will carry forward the evidence from the previous year.
Ask a parent/guardian to complete the form in black ink and upload an image of the form to the evidence section of your PayMyStudent account. If you are unable to print a copy at home, please e-mail bursary@ccsw.ac.uk and ask for a copy to be sent out to you through the post

We have plenty of secure cycle storage and cycle racks. There are also changing and drying facilities in the Sports department to enable cyclists to change before going to class.
