Why choose a career in Early Years & Education

The early years of a child’s life play a critical part in their development, shaping the person they will become in the future. That’s why equipping you with all the practical and personal skills you will need in the early years sector is so crucial.

Throughout your studies, your practical and theoretical skills will be nurtured as you develop your awareness of best practices in working with children from birth to five years, all the way through to Key Stage 1.

You’ll also have access to specialist work placements so you can gain experience in real-working environments as much as possible. This includes the Starting Point Day Nursery at our Crewe Campus; our very own Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ on-site facility.

“I knew when I was younger that I wanted to be a primary school teacher. I’ve really enjoyed this course and I loved the work placement. I got to go into a school and work with the children rather than just learning about them. If you are thinking of coming to the College, I would say make sure that you know the course is right for you as it will be hard work and you will need to be focused and revise.”
