Here’s some of the ways we can work with you

Outlined below is an insight into just some of the activities we currently run, but we can always tailor our offering to support the needs of your students.

Our presentation sessions are designed to offer students an in-depth look into their options. They’re suitable for Years 10-13 and can be delivered at your school/sixth form, either to a single class or an assembly.
We have a range of presentations available on:

  • 16+ options, including vocational and A Level pathways
  • 18+ options
  • Apprenticeships
  • How to apply and what happens next
  • Subject-specific workshops
  • CV development
  • Interview skills
  • Mock interviews

Whether it be individuals or a small group of students, we can arrange visits to Cheshire College so that the students can find out more about the Campuses and the courses available.

This gives students the opportunity to experience life at Cheshire College. We can also arrange for whole year groups to attend a full or half-day taster session where they could get the opportunity to experience different curriculum areas. We have found this particularly useful for Year 10 students in supporting their choice in their next steps.

We are always happy to support your school by attending these events and offering information, advice and guidance to students and their parents from years 8 through to 13.

Our team can attend your school regularly to help with applications, enquiries or advice and guidance over the lunchtime period to support your students.

We have a dedicated team of careers advisers who are available to offer one-to-one or group support to students researching their post-16 options or those who need additional guidance when completing their CVs and applications.

We can hold training opportunities for teachers, careers advisers or support staff. This can include Campus visits, updates on 16+ options and networking opportunities.

Cheshire College is proud to have strong links with regional and national employers across a wide range of sectors. These relationships benefit students immensely as they explore work placements, advice and apprenticeship or employment opportunities. To find out more about this and request a placement, please go through normal school procedures.

The College has successfully provided a 14-16 provision offer for a number of years to local feeder schools. The 14-16 Curriculum is reviewed annually to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of young people and complement the delivery available within local schools.

The offer typically includes a one-year programme for Year 10 and Year 11 pupils. Year 10 pupils can progress through to year 11 with a choice of subject pathways completing a second year at College.

All GCSE English and GCSE Maths delivery for both pathways is undertaken by the school. However, maths and English is embedded and delivered within all programmes at the College.
